A Bit About Me

My journey in bodywork began in 2017.  I've always loved outdoor pursuits and exercising in nature, particularly cycling, climbing, hiking and wilderness camping.  In the last 15 years I have studied Tai Chi, Qi Gung and traditional Okinawan martial arts which has deepened my awareness of my own mind-body wellness.

In my early 40's a bout of back pain led me to a great chiropractor in London, Anne-Marie McDonnell, whose skill was a revelation.  I also made friends with an amazing martial artist and shiatsu master called Joel Reeves, whose lifestyle embodies the health emphasis of the revered Bugeikan Dojo in Okinawa, where he is a senior private student.

In 2016 I attended a taster weekend at The London School of Sports Massage and loved it.  I enrolled on their Level 5 BTEC diploma in February 2017.  I love the immediate help I can give  people and the personal growth that comes with this training.

In 2018 I met Sally Morris, a highly respected therapist, tutor and also UK study group leader for the American  John F Barnes PT, the world's leading pioneer of Myofascial Release over the last 50 years.  I have trained with Sally since then and to date have made two trips to the USA to train with John Barnes and his team.  Most recently (Nov'23) I attended 10 days of advanced training in Nashville followed by a weeks placement in John's renowned MFR Treatment Centre in Malvern, Pennsylvania, working alongside some of the best MFR therapists in the world.
