A Bit About Me
My journey in bodywork began in 2017, born from a lifelong love of outdoor pursuits and exercising in nature. Alongside this I have been drawn to Tai Chi, Qi Gung and the health benefits of traditional Okinawan martial arts, all of which elevate my awareness of my own mind-body wellness.

In my 40's a bout of back pain led me to a chiropractor in London, Anne-Marie McDonnell, whose skill was a revelation. I also made friends with an amazing martial artist and shiatsu master called Joel Reeves, who champions the health teachings of the revered Bugeikan Dojo in Okinawa, Japan.

In 2016, feeling a need for a radical career change, I attended a taster weekend at The London School of Sports Massage and loved it. I enrolled on their Level 5 BTEC diploma in February 2017, and spent the next 18 months studying hard and building a local client base in Essex.

In September 2018 I started trading under the name "Pressure Sensitive". In hindsight it seems perfectly fitting for the MFR work I specialise in today. In reality my inspiration for the name was a very dear friend who has been plagued by back problems most of his life, we had a common love of music and he often lamented losing a copy of the 1975 album "Pressure Sensitive" by jazz saxophonist Ronnie Laws, and I eventually found a copy on CD for him. Also that year, seeking further training, I met Sally Morris, a highly respected therapist, MTI Tutor and also UK study group leader for the American John F Barnes PT, the world's leading pioneer of Myofascial Release over the last 50 years. I have trained with Sally since then and to date have made three trips to the USA to train with John Barnes and his team, logging 220hours of seminars and a work placement in John's renowned MFR Treatment Centre in Malvern, Pennsylvania.
